* Why We Don't Adopt Littermates: We don't adopt dog siblings together because of the risk of littermate syndrome which often causes serious behavioral issues. Learn more here.
Included With Every Adoption
Spayed or neutered to help control the pet population
Dewormed, heartworm tested, and current on heartworm preventative (age appropriate)
Microchipped so they can be reunited with you if lost
Pet insurance offered for purchase during the adoption process
Vaccinated for distemper (DHPP) and rabies
(age appropriate)
Petcademy provides expert support for 30 days including access to trainers

Get ready to unleash some fun at our weekly adoption events at the ODHS Adoption Center!
We’re welcoming you with open paws every Wednesday 5-7 PM, Friday 6-8 PM, Saturday 11 AM-3 PM, and Sunday 11 AM-1 PM at 3602 Lafayette Boulevard, Fredericksburg, VA. Come meet our adorable adoptable dogs who are just waiting to steal your heart (and maybe a treat or two)! The Adoption Process
Adoption Donations
$375 for puppies (under 1 year)
$275 for adults
$175 for seniors
* Select dogs have a $500 adoption fee.
Adoption donations are accepted by cash, debit card, and credit card.

Please remember to bring a martingale collar and a leash with you on adoption day! We can provide a martingale collar and a leash if needed for an additional fee.
