Old Dominion Humane Society would love to share the knowledge with upcoming animal lovers!! 

As we all know Vet School can be quite the financial commitment. What better way to get down and dirty before making that commitment than to join a hard working dedicated team to give you an in depth look into this world. Participating in our internship will also arm you with skills that could give you a strong foot in the door for many opportunities.

Requirements:
 

-Min age of 16 

-Must be able to lift 40lbs

-Must be confident around dogs and cats. 

-Must be able to pass a background check.
-Must be willing to commit to set scheduled hours. 
This is an unpaid internship where we focus on a set list of skills to better your advancement in your career in animal welfare.
Participants will learn about: 
Vaccination and Vaccine protocols
Microchiping 
Intestinal parasites and proper treatment
Spay and Neuter
TNR 
Dog behavior 
Safe handling
Quarantine
Fear Free training
Various diseases such as Parvovirus, Distemper,Rabies,Canine Influenza.
Nutrition
Training
Kennel Care
Grooming
And SO MUCH MORE!!
