sponsorship made a difference in the dogs’ lives—when the rescues arrived at ODHS they were
covered in fleas and underwent treatment and bathing regimens. Businesses, companies and
groups can sponsor a litter of puppies for $300. The sponsorship is used to care for the new
pups with examinations, vaccinations, flea and tick medication and more. The sponsoring
business can name the litter of puppies and reap the benefits of gaining positive social media
exposure, including on the ODHS Facebook page that consists of nearly 30,000 followers. The
businesses can keep up to date about their puppy litters by joining the ODHS Alumni Facebook
group, where adopters share photos and talk about the pups.

When Jim Powell, owner of Powell’s Furniture, sponsored the litter, his donation went to the care of the litter, which was severely infested with fleas. After ODHS volunteers cared for the litter with medicated baths, they are now fluffy and ready for adoption.
