Be a temporary foster to an Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) rescue dog with “Home for the Holidays” during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. The pups would be grateful for a little time away from the rescue facility to get attention from a family and have a warm place to snuggle. A tradition at ODHS, the “Home for the Holidays” program allows families or individuals to share their time with a rescue dog for Thanksgiving or Christmas—or both.
To foster during Thanksgiving, visit the ODHS facility and choose a best friend on Saturday, November 22, at 2 p.m., and return the dog on Saturday, November 29, at 12 p.m. “Home for the Holidays” continues for the Christmas holiday, where foster families are invited to ODHS to choose a dog---or two!--on Sunday, December 21, at 12 p.m. and return them on Saturday, January 3, at 12 p.m.
ODHS will supply the food, crate, leash and toys—everything needed to care for a homeless pup for the holidays. To foster a rescue and make the process quicker, visit the ODHS website at www.olddominionhumanesociety.org, fill out a foster application and let the volunteers know you’re ready for “Home for the Holidays.” Or, stop in during the scheduled times and choose a dog that day.
