Head to ODHS for a relaxing Saturday Stroll with one of the smaller rescue dogs. Volunteers will be waiting at the doors at 8:45 a.m. to match individuals with dogs, and then a caravan will drive to a local trail. Strollers transport dogs in their cars, and ODHS has crates available if needed. The Strolls are throughout the year, on flatter terrain than the Sunday Hikes, under two miles and on a different trail each week. Join other members of the community, and help get the pups exercise and socialization. There’s no need to sign up prior, and the Stroll lasts until about 11 a.m.

Want to get some exercise, check out beautiful local trails and do wonders for the rescue dogs at ODHS? Join other dog lovers on Sunday Hikes, where volunteers meet participants at the ODHS door at 8:45 a.m. and match them with the perfect dog partner. Then, drive the dogs to a nearby trail—ODHS has crates if needed. The destination changes each week, and it’s a fun adventure while helping the rescue dogs get exercise and boost their mental well being. Sunday Hikes feature the bigger dogs, challenging trails at a faster pace and range from three to five miles. Mark the calendar for a weekly date with one of the rescue dogs.
