Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) has something for everyone, from strolls and hikes with rescue dogs to Yoga and Paint Pawties this November. The public is invited to mingle with adorable puppies, the cutest adult canines and cuddly senior dogs.

Many of the events like the Saturday Strolls and Sunday Hikes are free, and proceeds from activities, such as the Yoga and Paint Pawties, go to the care of the ODHS rescues. Join in the fun, and find the perfect buddy to share the holidays.

Take a rescue dog on easy, weekly Saturday Strolls at 8:45 a.m. Meet volunteers at the facility, where they’ll pair dogs with participants and head in a caravan to different spots each week. The strolls are on flat, simple paths with an indoor backup for wet weather. Don’t miss the chance to get exercise, socialize with fellow dog lovers and give the pups a chance to explore.

Location: Meet at ODHS at 3602 Lafayette Boulevard, Fredericksburg, Va.

Make Sunday Hikes a weekly tradition--hike three to five miles paired with a furry buddy and enjoy the fresh air. Meet at ODHS at 8:45 a.m., and volunteers will match hikers with rescue dogs. The group will then head to one of the many beautiful trails in Fredericksburg.

Location: Meet at ODHS at 3602 Lafayette Boulevard, Fredericksburg, Va.

Visit Fraser Wood Elements in Downtown Fredericksburg, where the rescue dogs from ODHS will be waiting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The dogs will also be strolling along the streets during the event with volunteers wearing pink “Volunteer” t-shirts, so make sure to get some wet kisses and meet that new member of the family.

Location: Fraser Wood Elements is located at 123 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, Va.

There’s nothing that says “’tis the season” like a photo of that favorite pet with Santa Claus, and the jolly guy will be at ODHS from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get the pets decked out in their holiday finest to take a memorable photo. Don’t have a pet? That’s not a problem--rescue pups are always ready for a cuddle and will join the family for a photo with Santa.

Reserve a photo time today, and RSVP at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/photos-with-santa.

See the bright lights and wagging tails at the Concert in Lights tree illumination at Spotsylvania Towne Center from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The rescue dogs will be looking for loving families to cherish them during the season and throughout the year. Stop by the ODHS tent to chat about adopting, fostering, volunteering and donating.

Location: Spotsylvania Towne Centre is at 137 Spotsylvania Mall Drive, Fredericksburg, Va.

Get the yoga mat out and join in the Yoga Pawty at ODHS from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Guests will snuggle with puppies for 30 minutes, followed by a 45-minute beginner yoga session, which is sure to melt the stress away. All ages are welcome, and the price per participant is $20. Don’t forget to bring a favorite yoga mat.

Space is limited, so preregister today at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/yoga-pawty.

Location: ODHS is at 3602 Lafayette Boulevard, Fredericksburg, Va.

Bring the grocery list for fresh produce and homemade goods, and don’t forget to include a cute rescue dog at the FXBG Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ODHS dogs will be there to show off their zoomie expertise, cuddling skills and silly antics.

Location: The FXBG Farmers Market at Hurkamp Park is located at 500 William Street, Fredericksburg, Va.

Grab a brew and check out the available rescue dogs from ODHS at Laudenbach Brewing’s Pups & Pints adoption event from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Every drink supports the dogs—10 percent of the proceeds will be donated to ODHS. Visit for the pints and puppy snuggles, and find a new best friend. Not looking to adopt right now? ODHS will be collecting donations at the brewery throughout the afternoon. Learn about volunteering and fostering, and be a part of the team at ODHS.

Location: Laudenbach Brewing is located at 45 Centreport Parkway, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, Va.
