Longwood University Students Walk Dogs, Help Clean And Mingle With Rescue Pups At Old Dominion Humane Society

Students from Longwood University’s PawsforaPurpose visited Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) to help clean kennels, fold laundry and walk dogs on April 19. Kylie Ranson (fifth from left), of Stafford, is the founder of PawsforaPurpose and a longtime volunteer with ODHS. She joins the students to hold rescue puppies after the busy morning of tasks. The students traveled from Farmville, Va., early in the morning to volunteer and spend time with the rescue dogs. PawsforaPurpose was started for students who share a passion for animals, striving for animal welfare and promoting a more humane environment for them. It actively supports local animal shelters and rescues, hosting educational meetings on campus throughout the year.
